Vampires

Be trendy and dress like your favorite vampire.  From the classic Dracula envisioned by Bela Lugosi to some of the modern pop-culture phenomenoms such as the Vampire Lestat and current characters from Twilight, True Blood and more.  This is a relatively easy look to pull together.  Some of the essential items to create the look are:

• Capes
• Vampire teeth
• Thin red or clear glasses
• A top hat
• White embellished vampire shirt
• And, of course blood (fake is prefereable)!

The Decade Look

One great way to create your own identity for Halloween is to dress up to match the look from a decade gone by.  Whether it be the 40's or the 90's or anything in between, you can create your own unique look.  Recreate the Summer of Love with Hippie accessories.  A tie-dye shirt, some peace beads, a leather fringe vest and perhaps the kind of hat that made Dennis Hopper famous and you are styling.  Be sure to say "Man" at the end of every sentence and you are totally in character.  You can turn this into a couples costume easily with each partner creating a unique look together from the same decade.

Classic (and not so classic) Witches

Is there anything that says Halloween like a Witch?  There are so many variations on the witch theme and be totally you!  Start with the right hat to build your character and work your way down!  We have lots of witch hats to choose from including old school pointy black hats to embellished fabrics with lace and more.  For the costume, witches aren't just black dresses anymore.  They can be purple, black, orange and incorporate other themes such as the modern classic Kandy Korn Witch (available from several makers of costumes such as Leg Avenue).  The great thing about a witch is that you can make it really scary, funny and yes, even sexy.  And don't forget the broom!

Pirate

Ahhh, the Pirate.  An evergreen look that has seen a renaissance thanks to Johnny Depp's portrayal of Captain Jack SParrow in the Pirates of the Carribean series.  This is a look that with some imagination can be great for men, women, boys and girls of all ages.  We have a lot of complete costumes and this is also a costume that with the right few pieces can be made into your own look.  The right look includes:

• Pirate hat - from the class Captain Hook hat to the dreadlocked scarf of Jack Sparrow the head dress is essential. 
• Ear ring - ever seen a pirate without an earring?  Neither have we!  And we've look for a LONG time.
• Pirate shirt - think of the "poofy" shirt look from the timeless "Seinfeld" episode.
• Some makeup - if you look clean, you may not be a pirate.  While you may be freshly showered when you get to the party, your shouldn't look like it.  Make up can help achieve that "dirty" look.
• How about a hook?
• And lastly, you can't get your Pirates License without a cutlass or similar sword!
